It's mainly useful when used with mailing lists. Currently there are no
mailing list programs that support tagging but one can easily envision that
being added if there's a demand. The idea is the same as tagging blog posts
- to make it easier to find content based on tags. A site like technorati
could start spidering the public archives of mailing lists.
